Using Gravel Instead of Mulch

Decorative crushed stone next to stone walkway and lawn

We’ve seen some great examples of 3/4″ Seneca gravel being used as ground cover instead of mulch.  One application should last for years.  Who wants to pay for mulch every Spring and spend countless hours spreading it?  We recommend the use of landscape fabric ($26.50 for 300 square feet) under the gravel to stop weed growth.  Because of its color, the dark Seneca gravel (in the photo below) is the most popular for this type of application.  In our photo gallery, there is also a photo of 3-5″ Delaware gravel used as ground cover.  Contact our sales staff for help in determining the amount and cost of gravel needed for your space.
