The People of Irwin Stone
Brian Kelly
Grandson of Jack T. Irwin, founder of Irwin Stone. Brian began his career with Irwin Stone in 1981 as a truck driver and yard worker. Brian worked his way up through the company and over the years has become quite capable in all facets of the business. Brian currently manages the Frederick operation and is very much of a hands-on manager in all areas of the operation. Over the years, Brian has developed strong relationships with suppliers and does an excellent job of working with our suppliers to find the right product for unique and/or unusual projects.
David Modine
Began his career with Irwin Stone in 1973 in the cutting shop. During the first ten years of his career, David dedicated his energy to custom fabrication and expansion of the marble and granite business. Over the years, David's role expanded to include many areas of the business and he eventually took over the day-to-day management of the Rockville facility in 1993. David excels at working with builders and homeowners to come up with new and innovative stone products. This includes going beyond our usual suppliers to find unusual products from anywhere in the world. David still maintains a strong interest in and great knowledge of marble and granite especially unique and/or complicated fabrication projects.
